The best parts of the new update are what will be the most crucial components in the smartphone marketing war. The capacity to turn any smartphone that has Froyo installed into a wi-fi hot zone is a perk many have longed for. However, there is even better news for Google fans. This operating system iteration will allow for surfing the web up to five times faster than the Eclair. The world's most prolifically used search engine company also claims their new web browser is the fastest in the world without a doubt.

When it comes to reasons that other companies might fear the continual advanced of the Google operating system the Droid X may prove to be a big play in the dominance game. This device is heavily touted as being a major leap over its nearest competition. This sleeker, some would say sexier, version of the Droid phone is smaller and far more technologically sophisticated than its predecessor. The whole device has been slimmed down to a nearly uniform 3/8 inch in thickness. The camera is the only reason it is not completely uniform as this component needed to be half of an inch larger.

Between it's three microphones for perfect audio, 720p capacity visual settings, and high-end battery life this cell phone is set to make a major splash in the market. It even comes with the ability for DNLA interoperability. This is the first phone to offer such capacity. This technology allows for the user to output video to their blue-ray dvd player or DNLA capable television directly.

These factors are very important reasons as to why Google's operating system is set to completely dominate the smartphone and devices market soon. While other operating systems have been around longer and have higher numbers of iterations, such as the new Blackberry 6 OS, this operating system is only in its second iteration. Some would cite that this fact makes it 'too new' to be trusted. The reality has proven such naysayers wrong. The truth is that this technology has simply proven to be very effective and solidly constructed. The other companies of note in this communications technology war are doing their best to mitigate what Droid, Google, HTC, etc are doing with their operating system. They are going to be hard pressed to handle this sort of technological innovation.
